Ayia Napa Holidays
Ayia Napa is amongst Cyprus’ most popular holiday destinations thanks in no short part to the resort’s excellent beaches, quality accommodation and vibrant nightlife. Holidays in Ayia Napa can be as relaxing or action-packed as you like with activities to suit all manner of ages; be it soaking up the sun on fine white sands, enjoying a leisurely boat ride on Cyprus’ calm blue sea, or dancing until the early hours in one of the resort’s many lively bars.
While the resort has a well-earned reputation as the party capital of Cyprus, Ayia Napa is much more than just a clubbing paradise. Family holidays in Ayia Napa are extremely well catered for, with many of the resort’s restaurants offering luna parks (adventure playgrounds) to entertain the kids while parents enjoy a glass of local wine with a traditional Cypriot meal.
Both children and adults alike will have a blast at Ayia Napa’s award-winning Water Park with its outstanding selection of flumes and slides inspired by Greek mythology. There are 18 attractions in all, each designed to suit a variety of ages and constitutions – from the leisurely Minotaur’s Labyrinth to the electrifying Drop to Atlantis.
With its enclosed Eastern location far removed from the heavier swells of the Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus is blessed with calm waters ideal for boat trips and scuba diving expeditions. A journey aboard a glass bottomed boat is a popular daytime excursion for all ages, offering holidaymakers a chance to explore the sea life and rugged coastline of the nearby Cape Greco. As part of your boat trip, you’ll also get the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim with the fishes using goggles and snorkels provided by the boat’s crew.
Back on dry land, the resort’s collection of immaculate Blue Flag beaches make Ayia Napa the ideal destination for a relaxing beach holiday. The South Eastern coast of Cyprus contains the best beaches in the entire island, with none better than Ayia Napa’s very own Nissi Beach – a busy stretch of white sand just a small distance from the resort centre. Protected from larger waves by a tiny nearby islet, the shoreline at Nissi is a safe place to paddle for all ages.
With over 200 bars and clubs dotted around the resort, Ayia Napa comes to life in the evening. On any given night during the holiday season you’ll find karaoke, foam parties, live music and renowned DJs entertaining the massed crowds of holiday revellers. Particularly popular with young groups of travellers on their first holiday unaccompanied by parents, the atmosphere can inevitably get a little raucous in some venues – though there are plenty of quieter, family-focused establishments available for lower-key festivities.
